Application Procedure and Criteria

(a) Applications for membership of FFOU shall be in writing and shall be made in such manner as the Board may determine.

(b) The FFOU Technical Team shall consider and approve all membership applications whenever a new member meets all requirements.

(c) Any member aggrieved by a decision of the Technical Team under this Article may appeal to the Board.  

Eligibility

Ordinary Membership to FFOU shall be open to organizations that satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

(a) Must be registered as an entity under the laws of Uganda;

(b) Must be licensed by URSB  or a local council authority.

(c) Must be involved in at least one of the following services:

  • Fish Supplies & Fish ecosystem,
  • Aquaculture,
  • Fish & Marine Services and Advocacy,
  • Fisheries Trade, etc.

(d)   Must have been in operation for at least 6 months;

(e) Must possess audited accounts for at least one year preceding the year of application for admission to membership;

(f) Must have a physical address to be contacted and where it conducts its business;

(g) Must have at least four members of staff.
